CO-CURRICULAR & EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Though academic excellence is aimed at, it is also necessary that the child be given opportunities to relax his mind and exercise his body. Education being the all round development of the innate talents of a child, we give as many opportunities as possible for every student to participate in a variety of co-curricular and extra curricular activities. Participation in these activities will not only help to draw out and develop his various talents and aptitudes but also inculcate in him / her a spirit of healthy competition. It will also teach him / her the values of cooperation and sportsmanship, making him / her more disciplined and organised individual.

To achieve these aims we have provided facilities for outdoor games which include, Foot Ball, Volley Ball, Badminton, Basket Ball etc., and indoor games.

Regular opportunities are given for intellectual pursuits like debate, easy writing, quiz and general knowledge competitions. Students are also encouraged to participate in cultural activities like singing, music, dance, dramatics etc.,

In order to organise and conduct these activities in a systematic way, all the students are classified into four houses viz. Green Red, Blue and Yellow. The Inter House competitions are spread out throughout the year and conducted regularly. Every student is encouraged to participate in one event or the other. Incentives for participation are given in the form of points as well as trophies to the Houses and certificates to the Individual Participants.

Science Club, Maths Club, Fine Arts Club, Literary Association, Cultural Association, Social Service, Sports and Athletics N.C.C., Scouting etc., cater to the special aptitudes of talented students.

As every activity of the school is a part of the school curriculum it is compulsory that every student participates in it. Hence the students who are selected to various school teams or involved in other school activities are expected to stay back in school after class for an hour at least to make use of the opportunities provided to them. No exemption will be granted to any one except on medical grounds.

As all these activities are meant to develop the total personality of the child, parents should encourage their children to participate wholeheartedly.

Once a student is selected and given practice for any of the School Teams, It is compulsory that he / she participates in all the competitions for which the school sponsors him / her as it will not be possible to replace him / her at the last minute.

Students are taken on class picnics and educational tours with the permission of the parents. For all class picnics and excursions the students are to wear their uniform.
